Gracinda Caldeira, 48, admitted a total of four offences when she appeared in the Magistrate’s Court.
The court heard how the incident happened at Croix Guerin Flats, Grande Rue, St Martin’s. When a neighbour challenged her over her behaviour and removed the keys from her car, Caldeira became aggressive which prompted a 999 call.
When officers arrived she refused to get out of her car and her language deteriorated.
She was shouting and kicked out at one officer, striking them on the knee. She was arrested and sectioned after a medical examination.
Three weeks prior, her partner had attended at the Police Station to say that Caldeira had assaulted him the day before, scratching his face and ears while he was in bed. She claimed she had only been defending herself.
Caldeira, who had no previous convictions, admitted assaulting her partner, behaving in a disorderly manner at the Croix Guerin Flats, resisting police officers in the due execution of their duties, and dangerous driving.
Judge Gary Perry told defence advocate Samuel Steel, that having read the probation report, he was minded to follow the author’s recommendations.
Advocate Steel said in that case, the only comment he would make was that his client would lose her job if she was banned from driving and be forced to move to Madeira.
Judge Perry imposed a one-year probation order concurrent on each offence.
Caldeira was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the police officer she kicked.
A restraining order was meted for 12 months in respect of her now ex-partner.
It was clear that no danger had been posed to others when she drove into the shed so there would be no driving ban.
