There will be scheduled daily return sailings to St Malo and departures to Poole up to six days a week aboard Voyager. Again there is one scheduled trip each week to Jersey.
‘Morning departures from St Malo with evening returns to France have proved particularly popular with both visitors and islanders, alongside our morning departures to Poole and afternoon return services,’ said sales and marketing director Paul Acheson.
‘By maintaining a familiar timetable, we are providing customers with the consistency they value while continuing to support Guernsey’s visitor economy.’
It has warned that timings might change slightly once ramp schedules were agreed with the Port of St Malo for next year.
The company said it would continue to work with Visit Guernsey to encourage day visitors to return for overnight stays, and believes that this is starting to work, although latest passenger figures for June this year have shown a decline in ferry travel of 9%, with St Malo 17% down year-on-year for the month.
Total ferry traffic between the island and France fell by 4% over the first six months of the year, compared to 2025.
There was a similar, but less dramatic, picture on the northern ferry routes. Passengers to and from Poole were down 5% in June compared to 2025, but increased trade on other UK routes meant total passenger numbers only fell by 2% for the month.
Mr Acheson said the company believed there was scope to continue to promote the island beyond its core ports in France, and to develop weekend and longer breaks from the UK. The company is also working with the organisers of big events to explore how these can be accommodated within the new schedule through the States’ Ferry Operators Working Group.
The fast ferry sailings are available to book until 7 November 2027 but services on the Islander connecting Portsmouth and a new Cherbourg have not yet been finalised.
It will see the introduction of a Cherbourg stop when travelling from Guernsey to Portsmouth rather than a direct service.
The move was announced as part of route consolidation for Brittany Ferries earlier this summer and is due to start in November.
