The free family day runs from 10am to 4pm and will feature goats of all ages and breeds, judged by an experienced British Goat Society judge, alongside local stalls, competitions, refreshments and activities for all ages.
Visitors will be able to meet members of the local goat-keeping community and learn about the role goats continue to play in Guernsey’s rural heritage.
A particular highlight will be the Royal Golden Guernsey goats, a rare breed with deep roots in the island which was granted its royal title by King Charles in 2024.
The show will also feature goats that have joined La Societe Guernesiaise’s conservation herd, with visitors able to learn about the conservation work and even take part in a competition to name them.
Alongside the livestock classes, there will be a range of local stalls, a guess-the-weight-of-a-goat contest and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.
‘Government House is delighted to host this year’s Guernsey Goat Society annual show,’ said the Lt-Governor Sir Richard Cripwell.
‘This show provides a wonderful opportunity for islanders and visitors to celebrate this important aspect of our heritage. I encourage families, residents and visitors to come along, meet the goats and enjoy the many attractions on offer.’
Admission is free and dogs are welcome on leads.
