Children must be registered before 3pm on Friday 23 October. Registrations received after this period will be assigned a lower priority if spaces are limited.
All children who reach the age of five before 1 September in any particular year are required to attend school, or to receive alternative education provision, from the beginning of the next academic term. Children who reach the age of four on or before 31 August may also start school from the beginning of the academic year if spaces are available at the school.
Children who are baptised Catholic may be registered at one of the two voluntary Catholic primary schools, Notre Dame or St Mary & St Michael.
Application forms for each primary school (including the voluntary schools) are available from gov.gg/schooladmissions, as well as from the school themselves. Catchment areas can be confirmed at gov.gg/catchmentareas.
People can make an application outside of catchment but will also have to apply to their catchment school.

The number of children entering the education system has been dropping noticeably in recent years and hit an all-time low yesterday. Schools get smaller and class sizes are growing, with the average reception class containing 24 children.
