In an update issued yesterday afternoon, it was confirmed that work was continuing to fix the problem but that specialist teams and external contractors were still waiting for equipment to arrive on-island that will ensure the system can fully filter out the bacteria.
No cases have been detected in the community, but Public Health, GPs and the Emergency Department are continuing to monitor the situation as a routine precaution.
Tomorrow’s ‘The Music of Tina Turner’ show has been cancelled. The performers were due to travel from the UK and, with the timeline for reopening still uncertain, organisers said it would not be fair to ask them to commit to travelling when the theatre’s reopening could not be guaranteed.
Ticketholders will be contacted once the centre has reopened to discuss their bookings.
A further update is expected today, confirming wider arrangements for the weekend, including the status of Sunday’s Paws for Support dog show.
