The hotel in St Anne received its first Michelin Key last year, which recognises hotels that offer an exceptional stay, with properties considered for their individual character, architecture and design, quality and consistency of service, contribution to their destination and the overall guest experience.
The only other Michelin Key hotel listed in the Channel Islands this year is Longueville Manor in Jersey.
‘We were genuinely thrilled when The Blonde Hedgehog received its first Michelin Key last year, so to see that we have retained it for 2026 is incredibly special,’ said the hotel.
‘We are a small hotel on a very small island, and everything we do is centred around giving our guests a warm and personal experience of Alderney.
‘We want people to feel at home here, while enjoying wonderful food, beautiful surroundings and everything this extraordinary island has to offer.’
The Blonde Hedgehog was created from Julie-Anne Uggla’s vision to establish an intimate, beautifully designed hotel that would not only offer exceptional hospitality but also celebrate the character, produce and natural beauty of Alderney.
It works with local producers, organisations and island partners and has continued to develop experiences encouraging visitors to discover Alderney’s food, wildlife, landscape and culture throughout the year.
‘This recognition belongs to our whole team. From our chefs and front-of-house team to housekeeping, our gardeners and everyone working behind the scenes, an enormous amount of care goes into what we do every day,’ it said.
‘We are also immensely proud to be helping put Alderney on the international hospitality map.
‘To have a Michelin Key attached to a hotel on our island for a second consecutive year is something we hope the whole island can celebrate.’
