‘The hard-working Latvian community is very beneficial to the island’

I walk in Cambridge Park and Beau Sejour every day and I find it striking that I seldom see any litter.

It must be that users of the parks and dog walkers are all very socially conscious people and that they with the park keepers ensure that the paths and grass verges are kept perfectly clean.

Added to this good work, near the entrance to Les Cotils I found six ladies raking up leaves into heaps and bagging them ready for collection.

I discovered that they were all Latvians volunteering to keep the park tidy. This reinforces my belief that the hard-working Latvian community is very beneficial to the island in more ways than one might imagine and I thanked them for their efforts.
