Title eliminator next up for Watson?

AFTER ending his season on a high, Bradley Watson is targeting a British title eliminator fight when he steps back in the ring in September.

The Guernsey professional extended his record to nine wins from nine fights on Friday with a sixth-round stoppage of Valentin Marinov in London.

'As the fight wore on, I got on top of him and I knew he was tiring, so really pinned him down and eventually ended it with a big left hook that caught him perfectly,' Watson said.

'The guy was a decent boxer, but even if I hadn't stopped him like I did, I was still probably 5-1 up on the scorecards in terms of rounds won.

'It was good to get those rounds under my belt and I was pleased because if it had been a longer fight, I could easily have done another four rounds of that.'

If Watson's hopes come to fruition, he may well need to box 10 or 12 rounds because he is confident his next fight can be a title eliminator.

He was supposed to box for the International Masters belt later this month, but that date got put back until 18 July and he is not available on that day.
