'You will be carrying the flag tomorrow night at Celtic Park' was the broad message Guernsey Commonwealth Games Association secretary Angela Stuart told the squash player who has as good a chance of a medal this coming fortnight than perhaps any other Sarnian in Glasgow.

'I hoped there would be a chance I'd be considered,' he said yesterday morning before heading off to the Scotstoun Sports Campus for his first feel of the courts being used for the championships.

'It's a real privilege,' added the No. 7 seed who is now at his fourth Games at the age of 27.
