'Kiwi Kings' reunion may have to wait
THE captain is back for tomorrow's difficult away trip to Barnes, but director of rugby Jordan Reynolds is likely to resist the temptation to reunite all three of his big trio of established 'Kiwi Kings' just yet.
There have been no bigger and more influential players for Guernsey in recent seasons than the New Zealand trio of skipper Blair Campbell, scrum half Malcolm Barnes and, the leader of the pack, Nick Barton.
To have all three on the park at the same time would be a massive boost, but Reynolds insists on playing things safe and, in particular, nursing Barnes and Barton back to full fitness.
Barton surprisingly returned via the bench late on against Chichester last weekend, but Reynolds does not expect to utilise him tomorrow away.
'We don't want to force it,' said Reynolds.
'It's a pretty big game, but we've got an eye on Gravesend at home next week and we are setting out to win all our remaining home games. It's more than likely that we will rest him.'
