Baptism of Falla
JACK FALLA had to endure a frustrating start to life in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB last weekend, after being forced to retire from the second race at Brands Hatch.
The 26-year-old Guernsey driver is making his debut in the prestigious series that features as one of the undercard series on the televised British Touring Car Championship programme.
So, in front of the ITV4 television cameras, Falla made his bow with Redline Racing by finishing 18th in the first race of two in the 28-driver field.
He had qualified 14th fastest on the grid, but he got embroiled in some fierce competition and was edged back four places come the chequered flag, which saw him as fifth best amongst the Pro-Am1 cars.
Come race two, he would show his true race pace when he was quickly up to ninth, only to be taken out by a backmarker and the damage to his front radiator forced that retirement after a dozen of the 33 laps.
'I hope we've got our bad luck out of the way at the start of the season,' said Falla afterwards.
