After confirming their entry to the oldest national football competition in the world, Guernsey FC have been drawn at home against Bedfont Sports Club in the extra preliminary round, which will take place on Saturday 2 August.

The two clubs met as recently as the 2022-23 season in Isthmian South Central, when they drew 1-1 at Footes Lane in the November before Bedfont inflicted a 6-0 defeat on the Green Lions on the final day of the season, but it was not enough for them to avoid the drop.

The two sides went in opposite directions at the end of last season, though, with GFC relegated while Bedfont returned to the Isthmian League via the Combined Counties Premier North play-offs.

The winner of their FA Cup tie will host Kingstonian in the preliminary round on Saturday 16 August.

GFC also learned yesterday that they will travel to Bexhill United on Saturday 23 August in the first qualifying round for the FA Vase.

Both sides, who have not met before, are also in the Southern Combination Premier Division for the coming season.

If the Green Lions pass that test in the national knockout for clubs in step five and below, they will host Croydon on Saturday 20 September.
