Guernsey lead going into last day of Euros
GUERNSEY remain on the gold trail in Israel as they top the overall standings going into the final day of competition at the European Team Bowls Championships.
Although the Sarnian squad have slipped one place to second in the mixed fours competition following their first defeat of the week, two convincing victories in the pairs events mean their combined overall total of 40 points so far puts them one ahead of England.
Concluding matches against the Netherlands in the women's pairs, Spain in the men's pairs and Wales in the mixed fours will determine whether the Sarnians will return to the island with medals.
Matt Solway and Matt Le Ber are currently first in the men's pairs table while Jackie Nicolle and Lucy Beere are third in the women's pairs.
