St Jacques back in action on Saturday
ST JACQUES have confirmed that they will not be playing any more away matches this season, but have confirmed seven opponents for remaining league home clashes.
The yellow-and-blacks' third campaign in the Hampshire Solent Merit League has again been hit with cost issues and the club's president, Andy Le Maitre, has admitted as much.
'This has been a tough start to the season, both on and off the pitch,' he said.
'A combination of travel costs and late timing changes mean St Jacques will not be able to play the remaining away league fixtures.'
The league rules state that St Jacques must pay for transport costs for both home and away games, with high flight costs hindering their progress.
However, they also confirm that an agreement has been made with the co-operation of the league organisers and other clubs in the UK that some home games will become 'double-pointers'.
It means that those matches will count for both the home and away result on the official league table, with those matches being played at St Jacques' home KGV ground. The first is Saturday's clash with Tottonians Seconds, which kicks off at 1.30pm.
