The visitors from Gloucestershire, who received a bye through the first round of this competition, are currently unbeaten in their league and Guernsey captain Gemma Underwood expects the opposition to arrive in the island full of confidence.

'Newent will be on a high as they are yet to taste defeat this season so far, sitting on top of West Prem 2A with six wins and a draw, scoring 26 goals and only conceding six,' she said.

'An advantage for us will be that they are playing their usual hockey league game on the Saturday against promotion rivals Salisbury, so in the second half of our game their tired legs will start to set in, so we hope to take full advantage of this.'

Guernsey will also benefit from having at home draw, which allows them to name a 16-strong squad for this second-round tie, with three added to the 13 who earned the first-round win at West Wilts.

Push back in Sunday's game is at 12noon.

Guernsey squad

Emma Atkinson, Gemma Underwood, Holly Stubbert, Lucy Slimm, Katherine Bushell, Isobel Whalley, Laura Webber, Lizzi Stonebridge, Laura Cashin, Jen Tutty, Lucy Waldrom, Bianca Symes, Tash Symes, Liz Dudin, Amy Sharpe, Beck Hubbard.
