Bisson strives to put belief back into Rec

CLOSING the gap on the champions and league leaders is the aim for Rovers’ two big FNB Priaulx League title rivals this weekend.

Originally a free weekend due to the scheduled FA Inter-League Cup tie, Guernsey’s bye in that particular competition has seen two hastily-arranged league matches brought forward in the calendar.

They look like important ones, too, as North and St Martin’s look to recover from their respective defeats to Rovers with home clashes.

Despite nursing several injuries, North will be strongly fancied to beat out-of-form Rangers tonight, but tomorrow’s teatime game looks a tougher ask for Saints against improving Vale Rec.

Rec have climbed to fifth in the table and are slowly getting their belief back, according to coach Jody Bisson, after their victory over Sylvans last time out.

‘We came from behind to beat Sylvans, so we are getting there and all I want is for the lads to continue playing the football they are and consistent results will come,' he said.

Before tomorrow’s 5pm kick-off at Blanche Pierre Lane is tonight’s 7.30pm clash at Northfield between North and Rangers, the first of two meetings between the pair in a week.
