Billy in dreamland with England call

AFTER being chosen to represent his country, Billy Le Poullain hopes that next month’s debut in Hereford will be the first of many times he gets to pull on an England vest.

The Sarnian star attended a talent spotting day in the UK last weekend and impressed the English selectors so much that he has been picked for their next show.

Le Poullain, 22, is unsure exactly who from the Armed Forces he will be fighting on Saturday 16 December, but whoever it is, he is excited about the opportunity.

‘I am buzzing about it and it goes to show that I am doing something right if I am being selected for shows like this and now effectively ranked as the No. 1 at 69kg in the England set-up,’ he said.

‘I was looked at a couple of years ago but wasn’t ready then. There were a few things I was told to go away and work on, which I have, so it shows I am heading in the right direction.

‘It is a dream to represent England and I cannot wait.’

His next bout is at Friday’s Dinner Show at St Pierre Park.
