No win in six for GFC

THE lights eventually came on but there was little Tony Vance would have enjoyed watching last night at Woodstock Park.

A partial floodlight failure at Sittingbourne caused a slight delay to the kick off of last night’s clash of two out-of-form Bostik South sides, but the hosts quickly found their rhythm on their way to a comprehensive 4-0 victory.

The ‘Brickies’ opened the scoring after 12 minutes with a goal credited to their captain John Coker, although it appeared to go in off Dom Heaume.

Miles Cornwell soon doubled the advantage as he steered the ball past Callum Stanton and Kane Rowland made it three before half-time when he fired past the on-loan goalkeeper, who did make several fine saves.

Rowland completed the scoring with his second six minutes into the second half and, to rub salt into the wounds, GFC and Paris Pereira were denied a late consolation by an offside flag.

The Green Lions have now gone six games without a win and picked up just one point in that time.
