Ross rules the rally

JERSEY know a thing or two about rally racing and Ross Le Noa reigned above all to secure Resolution IT Guernsey Rally honours for the second year running.

But superb driving from Guernsey’s Dale Crowsley landed him a podium place of his own in the ‘bigger and better’ 2019 edition of an event so excellently organised by Karl Marshall.

Le Noa and navigator Domonic Volante powered their red ‘No. 1’ Ford Escort to a convincing win, clocking 41min. 59sec. and proving a cut above the rest in the expanded two-day event.

‘Running car one, the pressure’s on a bit, but it was all right – no problem really, it’s just what we do,’ he said.

‘I had a wrong tyre choice [on Friday], did the four stages and lost some time but I changed them again for the last two and it was a lot better.’

Crowsley was vocal about the joys of the rally and was delighted to bring some home representation onto the podium.

‘The stages were just brilliant – they suited us down to the ground,’ he said.
