St Helena all at sea in 9-goal rout
GUERNSEY made it two wins in two days in Ynys Mon as they thrashed St Helena 9-0 to comfortably secure top spot in Group C.
One of the Inter-Island Games tournament favourites, Chris Tardif’s side had way too much for their beleaguered opponents with the gap in class evident from the start.
‘I’m really pleased the game gave us an opportunity to play some younger players and to rest some other players and it was actually a privilege to playing St Helena, to understand what they’ve done to get here is what it’s all about,’ said Tardif after the goal glut.
Steve Renouf, Marlon Jardim and Will Fazakerley all bagged braces for the Sarnians with the other goals coming from Matt Loaring, Sam Hall and Tiago Rodrigues.
