First professional contract for Le Tissier
MAYA LE TISSIER has signed her first professional deal as a footballer.
The 17-year-old Guernsey star has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal, which runs until June 2022, with current club Brighton & Hove Albion after progressing from the club's dual career academy.
'We have been delighted with Maya’s progress this season, and she thoroughly deserves what we hope will be the first of many professional contracts in her career,' said Brighton women's first-team manager Hope Powell.
Le Tissier enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2018/19, when she made her senior debut in a Continental League Cup match against Crystal Palace in December 2018.
She has made a total of 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Le Tissier tweeted: 'Words can't describe what it feels like to have signed my first professional contract'.
