The Jersey Golf Union and Jersey Ladies’ Golf Association have taken the decision not to travel to L’Ancresse in view of the current Covid situation and the rule changes for incoming travellers from Jersey.
‘We felt we had no option but to reassess,’ they said in a statement. ‘Of course, putting the safety and health of all the players and officials in Jersey and Guernsey is paramount, it is also felt that the logistics and costs makes the trip untenable because of the additional requirements to test etc.
‘We would still like to play all the finals when it is safe to do so, so this is a postponement not a cancellation.’
Guernsey champion Danny Blondel is due to face Jersey counterpart Richard Ramskill in the men's showpiece while the women's Division One clash pits Veronica Bougourd against Elaine Pushman.
Bobby Eggo retained his Guernsey senior men's title on Sunday to set up a clash with Jersey's Bob Wickings.
