Ahead of the age-group Muratti with Jersey in November, the squad will first play against the Fleet Air Arm in the annual Malaya Cup match on 28 September at the Track.

‘For Dave Merris, as the senior men’s manager, this appointment provides that continuity between the U21 players and that senior squad. This will be important as we head through the season and towards the Muratti next May, and then the 2025 Island Games in Orkney,’ said GFA director of football Tony Vance.

‘It is pleasing to see Dave Rihoy also step forward and take on this supporting role because he is an individual who has a natural understanding of the game. The insight and experience that he will be able to share with the players will be of great value and I am looking forward to seeing how this new management team can take the squad forward.’
