The 29-year-old landed the Bachmann Trophy for the second time, and first over his home course, on Sunday as he beat Danny Blondel 8 & 7 in the 36-hole final.
He laid the foundations for his victory with a brilliant back nine during the morning round, making birdies at 13, 14 and 17 as well as a stunning eagle two on the 16th to lead 6 up at lunch.
Nicolle then parred the first 10 holes of the afternoon round before Blondel conceded on the 11th green.
The two-time champion said he was both relieved and ecstatic to win at L'Ancresse.
'I grew up by the 10th, my dad got me into the game when I was about five, and I've been desperate to win it down here for a long time now, and I feel like I've had some really good chances chances since winning it down La Grande Mare, so to finally get the monkey off my back here now, hopefully we can press on and maybe pick up a couple more,' Nicolle said.
