The Guernseyman made his first start for the national side in Saturday’s 7-0 Uefa Nations League victory in Croatia, impressing in the 70 minutes he played before being substituted, although reports today suggest that he had felt pain before lining up in Rijeka.
It is understood Scott, who won his first cap last week when he came off the bench in 2-0 win over Czechia in Prague, has a quadriceps issue and he will return to AFC Bournemouth.
It means he will miss the fourth and final game in England’s extended international window as they face the return fixture against Czechia tomorrow night.
The news comes on the same day that Scott has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the national media after being described as ‘the complete package’ by England manager Thomas Tuchel at the weekend.
‘First start and what a start, what a performance,’ said Tuchel.
‘He is so smooth on the ball, his decision making is at the highest level.
‘He plays with so much confidence. He is so active, so confident. The work rate off the ball.
‘He is just the complete package. He gave us a lot of mobility and a lot of variety and work rate in the centre of the pitch.’
