After a two-hour charter flight, the team, many of whom were exhausted from a night celebrating the end of the 'Friendly Games', walked into an arrivals hall packed with delighted friends and family members.
And the end of the Games had been extra special for badminton player Gayle Lloyd, who turned 30 on the last day and got to see one of her pop idols at the closing ceremony.
'It was very good out there. I had family watching me and when you went into the food hall at the village there was a real buzz.
'You got to see the big, famous names – I saw Tom Daley and Bradley Wiggins – but also you saw some of the people who had won gold medals.
'I had been to Delhi, so I knew roughly what it was going to be like, but we had all the home nations supporting us, I went and watched other sports.
'Plus I am a big Kylie fan, so it was a great way to celebrate my birthday.'
Team general manager Angela Stuart said Glasgow had done itself proud in showing what the city was capable of and all the athletes had enjoyed themselves immensely.
