Fire & Rescue Service crew commander BJ Nicolle said it was lucky that the girl was in a good quality seat as it had helped prevent serious injuries.

All emergency services attended the incident, which happened in the small Vale lane of Rue Battee at around 8.20am.

It is believed the white vehicle struck a bank before turning onto its right-hand side.

Neither the mother or child was injured.
