Captain Claus Andersen welcomed island dignitaries on-board the Royal Caribbean Quantum-class vessel, which is 350m in length, has 18 decks and can carry almost 5,000 passengers.
St Peter Port constable Jenny Tasker presented the captain and his staff with a Guernsey plaque for the ship.
In exchange, she was given a blue Royal Caribbean plaque that will be hung in the constables' office.
'This is a very good tradition for us and it is really nice to be able to meet the people that make things happen here in Guernsey,' Captain Andersen said.
'Also we are able to establish good relationships in case there are times when we need a little help.
'Guernsey is very well-known in the cruising industry and we are delighted to be here.'
