Sales of Guernsey Dairy ice cream nearly quadrupled over the half-term week, helping overall ice-cream sales for the year so far to achieve a 6.42% increase on 2025.
The Dairy said this reflected the strong demand in both the catering and retail sectors.
Dave Domaille, Guernsey Dairy’s production manager, said the team was delighted by the response.
‘It was fantastic.
‘We’re incredibly proud of the support from locals and visitors – we are at the heart of the community and supporting local products matters,’ he said.
‘During half-term, one west coast kiosk made multiple trips to the Dairy, collecting 18 cases of four-litre catering tubs on three occasions and a further 36 cases across Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
‘A separate kiosk selling Guernsey Dairy soft serve also completely ran out of stock.’
Mr Domaille said the production team is now prioritising restocking to ensure supply meets demand.
‘With another hot spell possible this summer, we’re working hard to replenish stocks so everyone can continue to enjoy our ice cream,’ he said.
Guernsey Dairy runs an ice-cream loyalty card scheme, which means after buying eight individual ice creams the ninth is free.
The cards can be picked up from Guernsey’s Information Centre and at a number of participating cafes and kiosks around the island.
