Sir Graham served the island for 17 years as a full-time judge, 10 years as Deputy Bailiff and seven as Bailiff.

The current Bailiff, Sir Richard Collas, described him as 'an incredible public servant and family man', who had a great 'understanding of our ancient, customary laws'.

Sir Richard said he had 'great patience and a generous and gracious smile.

'All who have spoken of Graham have highlighted his openness, honesty and integrity,' he said.

'His support of music and the arts was inspirational.

'But his role in campaigning for a Guernsey flag will remain an enduring memory and inspiration to us all.'
