The trustees and management committee said the service would cease to operate in its present form from 31 August, but it would continue to exist as a locally-registered charity.
It put the decision down to a lack of demand.
'Changes in the economy, social attitudes and an increase in the availability of the island's housing stock have resulted in a decline in the number of women needing to make use of the service, which Maison Saint Pierre has been proud and privileged to provide over the years,' said the charity.
'The decline in the number of homeless women and children in the island can only be viewed by all concerned as a very positive state of affairs for those who live in Guernsey.'
