The annual competition, which will be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, is open to staff of Health and Social Services who submit ideas to improve health or social care in the islands.

The winners of the £2,000 top prize were clinical lead dietitian Myfanwy Datta, specialist dietitian Rhona Hume, consultant nurse specialist Anne Kinch and diabetic nurse specialist Alison Place.

The film, which will be available on DVD and online, will play a role in educating and helping to combat the growing number of new cases of type two diabetes in the Bailiwick.

Mrs Datta was 'totally thrilled'.

She said the idea came out of a conversation they had about providing information for Alderney, because a dietitian goes there only once every three months.

The group stressed that it was about making the film accessible.
