CHANGE was on the minds of islanders questioned by the Guernsey Press about why they have decided to vote.

Those asked in St Peter's Village why they thought it important to vote, and what issues were playing on their minds, said there was only one thing they did not want to see – the status quo.

Jan Dussold, 65, is on the electoral roll because of a dissatisfaction with the current States.

'I am signed up because I am fed up with what is going on, the overspending and they are just not sorting stuff out,' she said.

'Right now I am fed up with Condor Ferries, the schools and I just think the important things are not being sorted out.

'And the waste strategy, they are now talking about sending our waste to England, which will cost more money.'
