The one-day festival, which will feature 24 bands and DJs, will be raising money for 17-year-old Jonah Gillingham's treatment who was diagnosed with a rare disease called atypical haemolytic uraemic syndrome last year after battling leukaemia in June.

Medicine to treat the disease costs £300,000 per year and the family have got to find the money themselves for a rare medical condition.

The event will be held in a heated marquee provided by Regency Events and a total of 600 tickets are available.

Organising team member Peter Bretel said he was confident that the festival would sell out and tickets would be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Entry costs £15 and tickets are available from The Fermain Tavern, Kendall Guitars, Bridge Candy Shop and The Golden Lion. Online tickets sales from www.eventbrite.co.uk stop at midnight. Gates open at 11am for a noon start.

A double CD featuring 26 tracks by local bands will be launched at The Golden Lion this evening from 7pm. The CD has been funded by the pub to raise money for the same cause.
