Herm children enjoy Easter egg hunt
A DRIZZLY AND COLD morning was no deterrent for Herm's egg hunters as a group of children descended on the White House Hotel for the annual Easter morning event.
High winds and cancelled boats meant that day-trippers weren't able to make the journey to the island, but the resident children more than made up for the reduced numbers.
The entire ground floor of the hotel was filled with mini, hidden eggs, and all children quickly filled their bags and baskets with treats.
There was lots of excitement in the air, as the normally quiet and peaceful lounges were infiltrated by sugar-crazed boys and girls, searching furniture, flower vases, and sometimes innocent guests, in their quest for chocolate.
The Easter bunny even made an appearance, helping the hunters and posing for pictures.
It was a lovely atmosphere, with several older children helping the younger ones instead of hunting for chocolate for themselves.
The hotel management generously repaid that kindness with eggs for the helpers as well as the winners.
One lucky girl, Emy Hastings, managed to find two of the four prizes, finding both a golden egg and a golden bunny, which she kindly promised to share with her younger friends.
