Pride of Guernsey - 'She made me feel part of school life'
ONE student has hailed the support given by Joy Le Page as personally helping to make them feel part of school life and stick with their studies.
St Sampson's High teacher Mrs Le Page has been a shining light for so many pupils in her role as learning support assistant for social and emotional needs.
The person behind the nomination for the Garenne-sponsored Teacher of the Year Award credited Mrs Le Page for personally helping to push them to get the education they needed to be able to move on with their life.
'If she didn't push me to try my best and help me at every opportunity, I would have quit school,' they said. 'She made me feel part of school life, she made me feel like I fitted in.'
The nominator said that without Mrs Le Page's guidance and support, they would have walked away from education.
'I will never forget how much effort she put into every single one of us.'
Mrs Le Page has been put forward as a worthy winner of this award, quite simply because she went above and beyond in every possible way.
