Mrs Bran, pictured, died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by her family, following a short illness. She was 76.

Married to former deputy Tony Bran, the mother and grandmother was well-known for founding Les Chansonelles Choir in 1992.

Guernsey Eisteddfod general secretary Barbara Minta has known Mrs Bran since they were both six years old and said they lived around the corner from one other.

Mrs Bran had been involved with the Eisteddfod for many years.

Mrs Minta said Mrs Bran and her husband were also involved with Gadoc and within that she was a 'leading light'.

She was an active Gadoc member for 50 years and both directed and musically directed plays.

'People will always remember her as a person who was very kind, very caring, and always cheerful,' Mrs Minta said.
