He said Guernsey has a wealth of young acting talent and this success is a source of inspiration for many of them who were lucky enough to work or see James act in many roles for Gadoc and GYT while learning the trade with Gate and at the Grammar School.
'James' first appearance on stage was as Dopey in the 2003 pantomime Snow White, aged 12,' said Pete. 'Then there were appearances in many productions such as The Graduate, The Collector, Guys and Dolls, The King and I, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Cinderella.
'James received many awards at the Eisteddfod and the Winterflood Award for Most Promising Competitor Under 18 in 2009 at the One Act Play Festival.'
After Grammar, James studied at the Oxford School of Drama and was selected by the school to represent it, along with fellow student Bronte Tadman, at the 2014 Sam Wanamaker Festival at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
'Guernsey can be very proud of all the talented youngsters involved in the arts on the island and successes like James' will continue to influence and inspire them to greater things,' said Pete.
