Pride of Guernsey: 'She deserves credit'
AS A fundraiser Jennifer Creed is a shining light for her age group, according to Peter Cann, who nominated her for the Butterfield-sponsored Young Achiever of the Year award.
Jennifer, 14, has done fundraising for the Guernsey Alzheimer's Association and last year organised a sponsored walk as well as helping out at the charity's Delancey centre.
The Les Beaucamps High School Year 9 student, who rides horses and also runs with the Guernsey Island Amateur Athletic Club, has taken part in other fundraisers including the Les Bourgs Hospice 30 runs in 30 days, as well as participating in the Swimarathon.
'We are not all "rolling in money" and, by the work of people like Jennifer, can and do make a difference to people's lives,' Mr Cann said.
'She deserves credit where credit it is due,' he said.
Mr Cann added that the work Jennifer had done was fantastic for someone of her age.
