This year marks the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the United Grand Lodge of England, which makes 2017 also a very big year for the closely affiliated Provincial Grand Lodge of Guernsey & Alderney.

With some 560 subscribing members attending 11 smaller lodges across the two islands, the Guernsey province is one of the smallest yet strongest provincial grand lodges allied to the United Grand Lodge.

Led by its provincial grand master of the last nine years, David Hodgetts, the fraternity locally has plenty lined up to mark the tercentenary.

A special exhibition about freemasonry in England and the islands is currently on display at the Guernsey Museum at Candie.
