Ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia, the baton is being taken around all 70 participating territories.

It arrived in Guernsey on Saturday and was brought into the official reception at Beau Sejour by Commonwealth Youth Games gold medallist Alastair Chalmers.

‘It was an absolute pleasure to be one of the few people to carry the baton on its way around the world,’ he said afterwards.
