The theme of the event this year was ‘neon’, and for those who had not managed to get hold of any suitable lights, Guides from the 12th St Mary’s group were giving out neon tube lights.

The ride was organised by the Guernsey Bicycle Group. Committee member Rollo de Sausmarez said he expected about 400 to take part, with many riders registering on the day.

‘We’re pleased with the good weather,’ said Mr de Sausmarez. ‘That’s an ideal incentive.’

First to depart were the children, whose route, starting from Vista Cafe at Vazon, took them to Richmond and back.
