Replica WW1 trench gets authentic touch

AUTHENTIC sights, sounds and smells have been added to the replica First World War trench at Home Farm field by the Guernsey Military History Company and volunteers.

They were on-site over the weekend making the final preparations ahead of several planned visits from primary schools.

Groups from each of the island’s secondary schools have been digging a scaled-down version of the trench occupied by Guernseymen in the First World War.
