Guernsey’s oldest resident now 108
GUERNSEY’S oldest living resident has celebrated her 108th birthday.

Ruth Berry, who has previously cited her positive outlook as the key to long and healthy life, marked the occasion at the weekend with her family.
Her son, Roger, said his mother has always been busy and positive, but he also believed her living to such an age was due to her genes.
‘Her sister lived to over 100 as well,’ he said.
‘But she has always been positive and always busy. It was only a couple of years ago that she stopped making jam and entering in the South Show and Eisteddfod – and winning prizes.’
