Alderney-Guernsey-Dielette ferry ‘would be huge boost for islands’

BLUE ISLANDS and Healthspan owner Derek Coates wants to run a ferry service between Guernsey, Alderney and Dielette.

The entrepreneur, who owns the Braye Beach Hotel in Alderney, is proposing to buy a 50-seat ferry.

But he says it will require a substantial initial annual subsidy to get it going.

With the right marketing and business activities, he believes it could be a huge boost for both islands.

The proposal does not form part of the tendering process for a May to September passenger service between Guernsey and Jersey.
