The 99-bedroom hotel, which overlooks Grand Havre Bay in the north-west of the island, has been purchased by the group that owns the Fleur de Jardin and Les Douvres.

‘The owners have recognised a need to develop their offering to an area of the island that appears to be lacking such facilities,’ said Ian Walker of Kings Mills Hotel Ltd.

‘Although the Peninsula has delivered a more-than-satisfactory offering for many years, it has always been slightly under the radar.

‘It is Guernsey’s second largest hotel in an enviable position on the coast and with fantastic banqueting and restaurant facilities. There will be some notable changes in the short term, but it will still maintain the high levels of hospitality that customers expect.

He added: ‘All the existing staff are staying and the new owners recognise, and are grateful for, their continued hard work and loyalty to the hotel.’

Promising regular updates through the media, Mr Walker said the new owners were looking forward to welcoming existing and new guests.
