Richard Sheldon, head of employment – Channel Islands, has also been promoted to partner within the dispute resolution team.

Advocate Field has extensive experience acting for global financial institutions and joins Appleby after working in Guernsey for the last 10 years.

A specialist in corporate and commercial litigation, he is also one of the island’s leading data protection lawyers.

He has advised and presented extensively on the topic, including working closely with the States of Guernsey in the development of the local new data protection law.

Mr Harding, who is moving from the Appleby Isle of Man office, is a specialist in the formation, restructuring and termination of investment funds. He has experience in a wide variety of alternative investment structures.

‘We are delighted to welcome Andrew and Richard. This is a great boost to our established Guernsey team and it further strengthens our ability to offer a seamless, multi-jurisdictional service to clients from our unique Crown Dependency network,’ said Wendy Benjamin, managing partner at Appleby’s Guernsey office.

She also said that Mr Sheldon’s promotion was justly deserved.

‘Together their combined wealth of experience and vast knowledge of Guernsey law is an invaluable asset, which enhances Appleby’s position in the offshore legal industry and in Guernsey,’ she added.
