He took the Green Monster Hayabusa bike direct from Pendine sand and achieved 216.5mph in a mile, setting a new British record for a supercharged 1650cc motorbike (P-BG 1650). The previous record was 205mph.

‘We did nothing to the MADMAX sand racer, other than wash it,’ Mr Eisenberg said.

‘It still has sand on the bike from Pendine, same gearing, same fuel. To achieve 216.5mph in a mile, compared to 201.5mph in 1.5mile at Pendine, shows how much power the sand sucks out of the bike and how little traction you get on the sand.

‘I am confident there is more speed, once we tweak a few things for tarmac.’

Next he took the MADMAX Quad out – which is well known for setting the Guernsey hill climb all out quad record at 33.78 seconds. After several attempts he managed to set a new British ACU 500-750cc quad speed record of 108.5mph.

‘The quad record at 108.5mph was the most scary, as quads are notoriously twitchy at high speeds, the front was going into a dangerous speed wobble at 90mph +,’ he said.

‘I tried many techniques, ending up with the ‘‘superman style’’ to get as streamlined as possible. The bike accelerates like a rocket and will comfortably do 100mph in a quarter mile, but those last few miles per hour to 108.5mph are very slow due to poor aerodynamics and fighting wind resistance. It’s not something I would recommend.’

At the end of the event, Zef was awarded the Prestigious Tony Foster award, for best speed performance of the last year for his historic 201.5mph Sand Record at Pendine.
