Dolphins, puffins and seals make boat trip an extra special event
AN AMATEUR photographer has captured pictures of some of the best sea wildlife the Channel Islands have to offer.
Health and Safety manager Tessa Le Gallez was taking a trip around the coast of Herm on the 22 of May when she was lucky enough to see puffins, seals and a pod of around ten dolphins, surprisingly all in a single trip.
Mrs Le Gallez was on Richard Seager’s boat Out the Blue, when she saw the wildlife that brought other members of the tour to tears.
‘As a regular jet skier I have been lucky enough to see all three of these types of animals in the past, but not all in one day,’ she said.
‘I feel so privileged to have seen them, but the dolphins are by far the most majestic, they are breath- taking in fact.
‘When we are out on the jet ski they love to follow us, the feeling is surreal.
‘A lady on the boat was crying happy tears when she saw them.’
The hobbyist photographer said that although she knows her pictures are not perfect, it is the joy of sharing them with people that she enjoys the most.
‘Photography has been a hobby of mine for years and I only class myself as an amateur,’ she said.
‘I’m always learning and know these photos are not picture perfect.
‘I love to share my photos so people who aren’t able to get out to see these amazing animals can enjoy them.'
Mrs Le Gallez took her photos from distance using a zoom lens to ensure no wildlife was disturbed.
‘It is extremely important that people learn to respect our wildlife and understand their boundaries,’ she said.
‘I feel so lucky to live on such a beautiful island and I love Guernsey.’
