Condor said that stormy weather coming into the English Channel is arriving earlier than anticipated.

The return service to St Malo to Guernsey has been cancelled, as has the cross-channel service to Poole.

A Met Office spokesman said it was expected that force six to force seven south-westerly winds are expected today, with the possibility of gale force eight locally.

This is much stronger than usual for July, but winds are expected to ease down this evening.

Condor Liberation, which also saw cancellations over the weekend due to technical problems, arrived in Poole at around 2am yesterday – about seven hours late.

Yesterday’s service did not operate to Jersey, but with Liberation running at well below full speed was not expected back in Poole until after midnight.
